Choosing an image that is going to represent your business is a big decision, especially if you plan on using it in a marketing campaign, or somewhere a lot of people are going to see it. The last thing you want is to look old fashioned or clich茅d.
So how do you pick a business image that sits in between 鈥渇un small business鈥 and 鈥渄ull and corporate鈥? We鈥檝e put together some top tips with a little help from our sales and research teams…
1. Get inspiration from image categories

2. Think traditional, not clich茅 (and understand the difference)
You want to look respectable and professional, but that doesn鈥檛 mean boring or clich茅. So think about what you would expect to see from a business like yours. Don’t forget to look at what your competitors are doing – you can learn from their poor image choices, as well as when they get it right.
3. Instead of using people, use abstracts and concepts
As we all know, fashion changes – people opt for different haircuts, clothes and accessories. If you want a timeless image try considering using something a bit abstract that doesn’t include any people. Use your brand colours so people recognise your business
If you have a strong brand then you want to make sure any images you choose fit in with that, and if you’re building your brand up, then the same applies. One quick and easy way is to use images that include your brand colours. It鈥檚 easy to do, all you need is the for your brand colours and then you can use our colour filter once you are on the search results page. Simply click on the ‘image’ filter, then you’ll see the ‘hex’ box under the heading聽‘style’.
5. Keep things current with the date filter
If you plan to use an image for a short amount of time, keep it current by using the ‘date taken’ filter or the 鈥榥ew鈥 tab – that way you know you’re picking from our newest set of images.
